Govt says Russia’s gasoline reserves fall, sales rise

MOSCOW, Aug 25 (PRIME) – Russia’s eeserves of gasoline decreased by 3.3% to 1.567 million tonnes on August 17 to 23, of diesel fuel by 3.8% to 2.57 million tonnes, the Central Dispatch Administration of the Fuel and Energy Complex, subordinate to the Energy Ministry, said on Wednesday.

Fuel supplies to the national market increased significantly. Supplies of gasoline for August 18 to 24 rose by 3.3% compared to the previous week to 743,000 tonnes, of diesel fuel by 9.6% to 853,000 tonnes.

Production of gasoline during the week decreased by 5.1% to 758,000 tonnes, of diesel fuel increased by 0.3% to 1.468 million tonnes.

Gasoline stocks in the country in mid-January dropped to their lowest level in the last six years of 1.2 million tonnes. In February, the Russian Energy Ministry recommended fuel companies increase gasoline stocks to 1.6-1.7 million tonnes by May 1 to supply the market, and this goal was met ahead of schedule.
